Job summary

NOV is seeking an experienced Welder in Houston to join our manufacturing team. You will fabricate and repair metal components, read blueprints, and use MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include operating welders and metalworking machines, maintaining equipment, and supporting with training as needed. Strong reading of blueprints and the ability to work independently are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of related fabrication/mechanical repair experience preferred.
  • MIG, TIG, and stick welding skills with ability to pass weld test; certification preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read pressure gauges, blueprints, and precision instruments.
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Forklift certification and ability to use shop tools and measuring devices.
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-train as needed.

Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fabricate and install complex custom production machinery based on blueprints, samples, or verbal instructions
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding with proficiency; welding certification is preferred but not required
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards
  • Support operational efficiency by working on assigned projects and assisting with training as needed
Job Duties
  • Read and interpret blueprints; create jigs and fixtures for weldments
  • Maintain and repair equipment per the Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Operate welding equipment and tools such as MIG, TIG, stick welders, plasma torch, and cutting torches
  • Use metalworking machines including lathe, mill, and bandsaw
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, man lifts, and overhead cranes safely
  • Perform tasks requiring standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and repetitive movements for extended periods
  • Must be able to pass a physical, drug test, and background check
  • Adhere to all HSE and quality procedures; utilize all required PPE
  • Assist with On-the-Job Training (OJT) for new employees as needed

Qualifications
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
