Job summary

Reed International, Inc. in Hickman CA is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our VSS Macropaver location. You will operate welders, interpret blueprints, and fabricate parts with TIG/MIG/Stick welding and flame-cutting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Thorough understanding of machines/tools used in welding.
• Basic understanding of plans and blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret assignments in various forms.
• Basic math understanding related to welding.

Responsibilities

• Operate a welder and cut/braze metal pieces using flame-cutting and hand welding.
• Review blueprints/plans for finished products.
• Fit up and tack weld weldments.
• Make jigs or fixtures for higher quantity orders.
• Check dimensions and quality of welds and assemblies.
• Ensure safety rules and PPE are followed.
• Possess TIG, MIG, Stick, flux core welding for steel, stainless, and aluminum.
• Maintain premises and equipment to high standards.

Some of the duties of the position include:

• The ability to operate a welder. Cut and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.
• Look at blueprints or plans for the finished products.
• Fitting up and tack welding weldments.
• Making jigs or fixtures for higher quantity orders.
• Checking dimensions of assemblies or parts, overall quality, appearance, and soundness of welds.
• Responsible for the quality of the projects he/she oversees.
• Ability to TIG, MIG, Stick, flux core Steel, Stainless and Aluminum.
• Maintain premises and equipment to the highest possible standards to maintain a professional image.
• Ensure all PPE, safety and company rules are followed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirement for the position include:

• 1 year of manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Thorough understanding of machines/tools used in welding (designs, uses, maintenance and repair).
• Basic understanding of design techniques (plans, drawings, models, and blueprints).
• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
