Job description

PrideStaff Southfield is looking for an experienced full time Welder/Fabricator for an industrial heat-treat equipment manufacturer who will be responsible for servicing new and existing customer equipment.

The scope of work requirements could include anything from fabricating furnace cases to brick installation. The ideal candidate would be someone who is willing to travel, work with unfamiliar equipment, and learn as much as possible from the job lead. Traveling could include overnight stays. Hourly rate is based on experience and current capabilities.

Hours: 7am-3:30pm. Some OT may be required.

Job Details (Welder/Fabricator)

Company welder/fabricators are responsible for troubleshooting/repairing heat treating equipment and reporting back to project management or the job lead. This position could be required to perform the following tasks which include, but are not limited to:

• Welding mild or stainless pipe, plate, or angle steel
• Fabrication of miscellaneous furnace parts
• Operating equipment such as: saws, drills, grinders, MIG/TIG welders, plasma cutters, fork lifts, scissors lifts, and cranes
• Shop maintenance
• Brick/Insulation work
• Painting furnace exteriors, piping, and spare parts

• General maintenance knowledge
• Basic understanding of shop safety and procedures
• Schedule flexibility
• Troubleshooting capabilities
• Print reading capabilities
• Willingness to take on a variety of different tasks

This company is an industrial service based industry. Applicants must be self-motivated and willing to travel 25% of the time. Traveling service technicians will receive travel pay on a per diem basis.
