We’re building more than infrastructure; we are building your future.**General Summary**The welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools.**Essential Job Accountabilities*** Perform welding operations on pipe, vessels, structural skids and other equipment.* Ability to weld both CS and SS piping.* Layout, cut, fit and otherwise prepare material for welding.* Fabricate material from piping schematics and other drawings, working from blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions.* Operate oxy-acetylene torch to cut, braze, weld and solder.* Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.* Perform quality detailing work, grinding, polishing, etc.* Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns, performing all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.* Complete all appropriate documentation and paperwork. **Education*** High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience **Certification*** Valid driver's license* Welding certifications a plus, but not required **Work Experience*** Minimum 2 years' experience in pipeline construction and welding procedures **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** Prior experience with drilling, welding casing is a plus.* Experienced in Stick, Wire Feed, TIG* Experience with conceptualizing and designing for fabrication* Forklift certification* Be able to routinely lift heavy equipment up to 50 pounds* Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy* Look at flat drawings, pictures, and blueprints and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth* Have good written and verbal communication skills* Be able to promote the safety culture within our company by working within the safety policies established by Granite and our customers.* Be willing to perform a variety of tasks as may be necessary to promote completion of work, including assisting on other projects as necessary. **Additional Requirements/Skills** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.* The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a small hand tools.* The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.* The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment* Ability and willingness to abide by the Company’s Code of Conduct on a daily basis
