Job summary

Aagard looks for skilled welders to perform MIG and TIG welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing in a fast-paced environment. The role requires confirming weldments align with design specs and quality standards, plus accurate ERP data entry for part movement and costs.

You will inspect welds, follow safety practices, and collaborate on process improvements while supporting timely project completion and team growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; welding education/certificate is preferred.
• MIG and/or TIG welding experience required.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic shop math skills (rounding, positive/negative numbers, metric system).
• Experience with computers and ability to learn Aagard software.
• Ability to climb and work in tight spaces; stand 100% of the time; lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and/or TIG welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing tasks to meet engineering specifications.
  • Ensure weldments are properly oriented to design specifications before performing welding procedures.
  • Maintain consistent quality standards by following established processes and verifying finished work.

  • Efficiently handle and move materials or parts using forklifts, overhead cranes, welding tables, or other approved methods.

  • Identify and recommend updated manufacturing methods to increase productivity and reduce costs, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.

Knowledge And Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent, Welding education/certificate and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• MIG and/or TIG welding experience required
• Ability to read and understand the proper use of measuring instruments, CAD drawings, and blueprints
• Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift safely
• Valid driver’s license required
• Basic shop math skills as rounding, positive/negative numbers, metric system
• Experience or training with computers and ability to learn and use Aagard specific software
• Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters
• Ability to walk or stand up 100 percent of the time
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb
