Job summary

Weir is seeking welders for on-site, full-time roles in Covington, KY. You will perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication daily, repairing heavy mining equipment and interpreting blueprints and sketches to meet project needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years welding/fabrication experience, especially repairing heavy industrial equipment.

• Experience with Spray Arc Welding and heavy equipment welding (1+ year preferred).

Shift: Day Shift Mon-Thurs 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

What you'll do

• Welding Operations: Utilize various welding processes to join metal parts according to work orders and blueprints, ensuring precision and quality in all tasks.
• Equipment Repair and Fabrication: Conduct repairs and modifications on heavy mining equipment such as buckets, pipelines, and other components, restoring functionality and structural integrity.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and charts to understand project requirements and execute welding tasks accordingly.
• Daily Responsibilities: Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication tasks daily, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
• Success Metrics: Success will be measured by the quality and timeliness of repairs, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

What you'll bring

Must-haves:

• 2 years of proven experience in welding and fabrication, especially in repairing heavy industrial equipment
• Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and charts accurately
• Strong capability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with Spray Arc Welding and heavy equipment welding (minimum one year preferred)

Nice-to-haves:

• Certification in welding or related field
• Experience with fabrication and repair of mining equipment
• Familiarity with safety protocols in industrial environments
• Ability to adapt to dynamic work schedules and overtime requirements
