Job summary

Weir in Covington, KY seeks an experienced Welder for onsite, full-time Day Shift. You will perform welding operations, fabricate and repair heavy mining equipment, and interpret blueprints and sketches daily.

You will work with a safety-focused team to deliver high-quality results and support operations across our sites. The role requires 2 years of welding experience, ability to read blueprints, and the capacity to work independently or with others in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do:

Welding Operations: Utilize various welding processes to join metal parts according to work orders and blueprints, ensuring precision and quality in all tasks. Equipment Repair and Fabrication: Conduct repairs and modifications on heavy mining equipment such as buckets, pipelines, and other components, restoring functionality and structural integrity. Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and charts to understand project requirements and execute welding tasks accordingly. Daily Responsibilities: Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication tasks daily, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety. Success Metrics: Success will be measured by the quality and timeliness of repairs, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. What you'll bring

Must-haves:

• 2 years of proven experience in welding and fabrication, especially in repairing heavy industrial equipment
• Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and charts accurately
• Strong capability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with Spray Arc Welding and heavy equipment welding (minimum one year preferred)

Nice-to-haves:

• Certification in welding or related field
• Experience with fabrication and repair of mining equipment
• Familiarity with safety protocols in industrial environments
• Ability to adapt to dynamic work schedules and overtime requirements
