Job summary

A leading mechanical contractor in Mitchell is seeking a Field/Shop - Welder/CDL Driver. The position involves assisting in welding, fabrication, and driving trucks. Candidates should have a valid driver's license and an eagerness to learn the sheet metal trade. This is a full-time opportunity with competitive pay and the potential to enter a skilled trade program, including Union benefits after starting the apprenticeship program in fall 2026.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a pre-work physical assessment and drug screen.
• Physical ability to bend, stand, and use hand tools and shop machinery.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeymen in fabrication, assembly, welding, and installation of products.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting.
• Load materials and drive trucks with CDL Class A or B.
• Maintain the shop, using hand tools and machinery.
• Light travel outside of the shop may be required.

Skills

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Strong interest in the sheet metal trade
