Job summary

S&C Electric Company is seeking a Welder-Basic for our 2nd shift to assemble metal structures using manual or robotic welding equipment. You will read blueprints, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with a production team to deliver high-quality welded products.

Requirements include a high school diploma or welding apprenticeship, 1-2 years welding experience, and knowledge of welding symbols and metallurgy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or welding apprenticeship required.
• 1-2 years welding experience or completion of apprenticeship.
• Proficient understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy, and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of safety standards related to welding and metalworking.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Ability to set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools.
• Good problem-solving and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute welding operations to join, fabricate, and repair metal.
• Set up and operate manual and robotic welding equipment.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and job orders.
• Ensure welding is completed to required standards and specs.
• Inspect welded surfaces and maintain quality control.
• Maintain welding equipment in good working condition.
• Collaborate with team to achieve production goals.
• Record and report production data timely.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
