**Responsibilities:**

1. Satisfactorily completes company-approved work samples demonstrating welding expertise according to company standards.
2. Operate manual welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrodes to workpieces and joining edges.
3. Maintain the length of the arc and speed of movement to form the specified depth of fusion and bead.
4. Welds aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and galvanized materials.
5. Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
6. Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in a fixture.
7. Tack assemblies together.
8. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety practices and regulations.
9. Engage in cross-training and knowledge sharing with peers.
10. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required/assigned.

**Principal Duties:**

1. Satisfactorily completes company-approved work samples demonstrating welding expertise.
2. Operate manual welding units and equipment, depositing metal from electrodes and joining edges.
3. Maintain arc length and movement speed to achieve specified fusion and bead quality.
4. Welds aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and galvanized materials.
5. Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
6. Position and clamp workpieces or assemble in fixtures.
7. Tack assemblies together.
8. May change hoses, fittings, air valves, suspension parts, etc.
9. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe condition.
10. Engage in cross-training and knowledge sharing.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

**Requirements:**

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. 6 months or more prior MIG welding experience preferred.
3. Certification preferred but not required.
4. Ability to work independently.
5. Shop math skills.
6. Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, technical drawings, work orders, and instructions.
7. Previous work experience or vocational training is preferred.
