**Responsibilities:**
- Satisfactorily completes company-approved work samples demonstrating welding expertise according to company standards.
- Operate manual welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrodes to workpieces and joining edges.
- Maintain the length of the arc and speed of movement to form the specified depth of fusion and bead.
- Welds aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and galvanized materials.
- Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
- Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in a fixture.
- Tack assemblies together.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety practices and regulations.
- Engage in cross-training and knowledge sharing with peers.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as required/assigned.
**Principal Duties:**
- Satisfactorily completes company-approved work samples demonstrating welding expertise.
- Operate manual welding units and equipment, depositing metal from electrodes and joining edges.
- Maintain arc length and movement speed to achieve specified fusion and bead quality.
- Welds aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and galvanized materials.
- Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
- Position and clamp workpieces or assemble in fixtures.
- Tack assemblies together.
- May change hoses, fittings, air valves, suspension parts, etc.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe condition.
- Engage in cross-training and knowledge sharing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Requirements:**
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months or more prior MIG welding experience preferred.
- Certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Shop math skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, technical drawings, work orders, and instructions.
- Previous work experience or vocational training is preferred.
