Job description

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Performs complex assignments using advanced trade skills. Can weld every part family currently on contract for BAWC. Minimum of ten (10) years of a strong manufacturing background working as a Welder.
  2. Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience at BAWC working as a Welder.
  3. Expert knowledge of precision measuring equipment with the ability to operate it.
  4. Uses extensive experience to guide design and tooling engineering on manufacturability and ergonomics of proposed part and tool designs.
  5. Able to influence engineering and leadership in identifying and building simplified set-up techniques to streamline complex setups.
  6. Responsible for welding extremely complex assemblies that meet station planning and customer specifications. Frequently called upon as Subject Matter Expert by Engineering during process development and Kaizen improvement events.
  7. Advises team on welding best practices and equipment.
  8. Understands and analyzes information related to the production process.
  9. Solves complex problems using analytical judgment and initiative.
  10. Possesses high-level drawing reading and GD&T capability.
  11. Works independently with minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may direct workflow/processes of other staff members.
  12. No safety violations on record. Participates in BBS reviews and safety committees.
  13. Demonstrates leadership in quality, able to solve, correct, and mentor B & C level operators. Can lead RC&CA efforts.
  14. Builds respectful relationships with all department members and interacts routinely with functional groups to build a support network.
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training highly preferred.
