Job summary

JLG, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a welder to operate welding equipment and build high quality parts on our production lines. The role involves setting machines, reading blueprints, and working across positions from flat to overhead.

You will join a safety‑minded team in Jefferson City, MO, with a focus on 6S standards, attention to detail, and reliable attendance. Must complete weld class and pass Welder Qualification tests.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow blueprints and instructions.
  • Maintain a safe, 6S compliant work area.

This position is responsible for operating welding equipment to build high quality parts, subassemblies, and finished product. Weldments vary in type, size, and direction and are performed on a variety of production lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adjust welding machine settings to proper weld configurations
  • Use tools such as grinders, needle guns, wire wheels, etc. for cleanliness of finished welds
  • Heats and forms metal parts and components using hand tools, torch, or welding equipment
  • Welds components in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
  • Accurately operate and read measuring devices
  • Assemble and weld various metal parts together
  • Properly position material/parts to be welded
  • Train and work in various areas of production in response to production demands
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions including ability to read blueprints
  • Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 6S standards
  • Work in both team and individual settings
  • Regular attendance required
  • All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must receive a passing score on the Welder Qualification test and recertify skills as required by program guidelines
  • Must have completed a weld class / curriculum
