Job summary

R-TECH SAS in Wamego, KS seeks a skilled Welder to join our fabrication team. Under supervision, you will apply welding processes to join, surface, fabricate or repair metal parts per drawings, blueprints, or supervisor instructions.

You will analyze drawings, weld in flat/vertical/overhead positions, prepare surfaces, and mark parts. Lifting up to 50 pounds, adhering to safety policies, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proficient in welding processes to join, surface, fabricate or repair metal parts per orders or supervisor.
• Able to read engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications and work orders.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and following safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using SMAW or GMAW as required.
• Prepare material surfaces to remove scale, rust, moisture, or grease before welding.
• Set up and clamp parts, align with fixtures, check tolerances with measuring tools.
• Mark, tag, and identify parts with job numbers and identification marks.
• Follow supervision and company policies, and perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

Under Supervision, Welder will apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials, as specified by MRP Network, work orders, blueprints, sketches, or acting supervisor.

Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner and complies with company policies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Weld steel components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, ability to ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
• Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment, lay-out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
• Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
• Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
• May perform other duties as assigned by management.
