Job summary

Waste Management is seeking a Welder and Compactor Repair Technician in Matawan, NJ. The position focuses on preventive maintenance, inspection, diagnosis and repair of compactors and containers, under general supervision.

You will work with electrical, hydraulic, suspension and brake systems, using diagnostics to plan repairs and document work times. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to OSHA standards, and teamwork with senior technicians.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
  • Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems as needed.
  • Utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Estimates time and material costs on compactor and container repairs and requisitions new parts.
  • Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Conducts safety checks on compactors and containers.
  • Completes required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assists senior technicians in the completion of project work.

The pay and benefits you’ll get as Welder and Compactor Repair Technician

  • Starting salary of $30per hour.

Hours: Monday -Friday (7am -3:30pm)

Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses and repairs compactors and containers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
  • Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems as needed.
  • Utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Estimates time and material costs on compactor and container repairs and requisitions new parts.
