Job summary

WM is seeking a maintenance technician in Springdale, AR to perform preventive maintenance on compactors and containers, diagnose issues, and execute repairs. The role requires strong mechanical skills, safety awareness, and the ability to coordinate with maintenance teams.

Pay starts at $27 per hour with room for experience-based advancement. Working hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, on-site.

Qualifications

• 4 years of previous work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and ensures the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during an inspection.
• Performs proficient inspection, diagnosis and moderately complex repair of assigned compactors and containers.
• Provides assistance, guidance and direction to other maintenance personnel.
• Utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Estimates time and material costs on repairs and requisitions new parts.
• Advises supervisor immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
• Inspects the quality of outside/supplier repairs and/or rebuilds and assigns needed repairs.
• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conducts safety checks on compactors and containers and performs related maintenance.
• In the absence of supervision, may provide maintenance supervisory duties.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and safety procedures.

I. Job Summary

Performs preventive maintenance inspection (PMI); troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds major components on compactors and containers. Ensures accurate diagnosis and effective repair and/or replacement of components.

• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
