Responsibilities

• Join and fabricate: interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
• Prepare and set up: position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits using jigs, welding torches and hand tools.
• Lift and position materials: safely use lifting devices to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure quality: measure and inspect with tools to ensure materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to improvement: participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and organize: manage material inventory and support housekeeping and 5-S standards.

What You’ll Do

• Join and Fabricate: Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
• Prepare and Set Up: Position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5‑S practices.

The expected pay scale for this role is $22.62-$24.29 per hour, depending on experience, skill set, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for monthly bonus, health, and welfare benefits and 401(k) match in accordance with BlueScope policies.
