Job summary

Aerotek is seeking Per Diem Welders located in Alma, Michigan, with a contract-to-hire path and Columbia, SC as the work location. The role pays $30-31 per hour plus a $150 per diem, with a DAY/NIGHT shift and significant OT (15+ hours/week).

You will weld, fabricate, and repair structural steel components for NAVSEA-related equipment. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, welding to specifications, and inspecting weld quality.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of structural fitting and welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Proficiency with flux core welding, pulse welding and MIG pulse welding.
• Experience converting fractions to decimals (1/16, 1/32) from tape measures.
• Proficiency with tape measures, fittings and squares.

Responsibilities

• Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques.

Pay: $30-31/hr + $150 per diem

Contract Duration: 1-2 year to direct

Shift: DAY AND NIGTHT (working 15+hrs of OT/week)

Job Description

Join our team as a Welder and Fabricator, where you will be responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques. You will interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the most suitable welding process and ensure the structural soundness of completed welds. This role involves welding and fitting various large structural steel components for NAVSEA-related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques.

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.

• Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness.

• Weld and fit various large structural steel components for NAVSEA-related equipment.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in using tape measures, fitting, Flux core, pulse, MIG pulse, and squares.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols with 3-5+ years of experience.

• 3-5+ years of experience in structural fitting and welding.

• 3-5+ years of experience in both flux core welding and pulse welding.

• 3-5+ years of experience in converting fractions to decimals to 1/16th and/or 1/32nd from tape measures.

Weld Test Requirements

• 3G Flux Core Weld Test on a 1 in plate

• 3G Pulse Weld Test on a 3/8th plate

• ALL TESTING IS LOCATED IN ALMA, MICHIGAN

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr.
