Job summary

Aerotek is seeking Structural Welder/Fitter in New Castle, DE for contract-to-hire to support large-scale construction fabrication. You will read blueprints, measure and fit structural steel, and operate fabrication tools while maintaining tight tolerances.

The role requires digital literacy to access digital drawings on tablets and computers, adherence to OSHA safety standards, and teamwork with welders and machine operators in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine layout and assembly requirements.
• Accurately measure, cut, and fit structural steel components using welding, bolting, and other fastening techniques.
• Use a tape measure with precision down to 1/16th of an inch to ensure accurate layout and fabrication.
• Operate fabrication tools and machinery including saws, torches, grinders, and drill presses.
• Ensure all components meet dimensional and quality standards before final assembly.
• Collaborate with welders, machine operators, and quality control to maintain production accuracy and efficiency.
• Utilize tablets and computers to read digital drawings and work instructions.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed assemblies.
• Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading steel components.

Structural Welder/Fitter Openings in Nortnern DE

We are seeking Structural Steel Welders & Fitters to join our fabrication team. This role is essential in producing high-quality structural components for large-scale construction projects, including warehouses, manufacturing facilities, high-rise buildings, and commercial structures. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint reading skills, precision fitting experience, and the ability to work with tight tolerances. As the company transitions to digital workflows, candidates must be comfortable using tablets and computers to access and interpret digital drawings and fabrication plans.

Pay: Up to $30/hour + Weekly Pay!

Shift: Day Shift

Work Environment

Work in a non-temperature controlled fabrication shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery. The role requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be necessary to meet project deadlines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Castle, DE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
