Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation in the United States is seeking an experienced welder to assemble and weld shells, rings, and feet for generators. You will read blueprints, set up weld parameters, and perform MIG welding with attention to quality and safety.

You will also inspect materials, follow TPM tasks, maintain tidy work areas, and support team leaders. This is a first shift on-site manufacturing role with strict adherence to EEO policies.

Qualifications

• Utilize precise measuring devices and perform own setups.
• Proficient with MIG welding and ensuring weld quality.

Job Description

Assembles and welds shells, rings, and feet for generators. Also corrects settings, speeds, and feeds on welders including proper setup of product to be welded.

Duties & Responsibilities Information:

• Assembles and welds shells, rings, and feet for generators
• Places stator core on mandrel, asssembles shell and rings
• Guages height and then tacks weld together
• Assembles and welds feet to frame and core assembly
• Corrects settings on welders including speeds and feeds as well as proper setup of product to be welded
• Inspects quality of material being welded to prevent rework
• Includes MIG welding
• Protects other employees from flash of arc which could cause damage to eyes
• Wears welding hood, gloves, and other protection as dictated
• Exercises good housekeeping in work area
• Observes good safety practices in performance of job
• Performs daily/weekly TPM tasks and completes checksheets
• Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader

• Must be able to read complicated drawings, decimal dimensions on blueprints, utilize precise measuring devices and use to perform own setups
