Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Sanford, NC is seeking a Welder 3 to join our team on a 1st shift. You will weld using MIG, perform carbon air arc repairs, and inspect your work using weld gauges and other measuring tools.

The role requires at least one year of welding and carbon air arc experience, passes 2F/4F/2G weld tests, and may include lifting up to 35 lbs. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a pay range of $26.75 to $33.45 per hour.

What This Looks Like

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:15 am - 2:15 pm, Overtime as business needs require
• 1st Shift Starting Pay: $26.75/hour

As a Welder 3 At Caterpillar, You Will

• Uses various tools provided in the work area to perform welding duties including but not limited to manual MIG Welding
• Repair defective welds utilizing carbon air arc process, grinders, etc.
• Inspect own work including quality checks utilizing weld and attribute gages and other measuring tools.
• Use lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.
• Complete routine maintenance (wire change, tip/nozzle change) in all qualified workstations.
• Rotate to various positions within the Job Function area to perform related activities.
• Follow documented procedures, standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect‑free operations
• Follow and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work
• Responsible for process and final inspections
• Function as part of a team, willing to be multi‑trained and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.

Physical Requirements (with Or Without Reasonable Accommodation)

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Summary Pay Range

$26.75 - $33.45
