Wastequip in Tyler, TX is seeking a Welder for the 2nd shift to join our manufacturing team. The role requires MIG welding in a fast-paced environment, reading blueprints and tape measures, and adhering to safety and quality standards. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a starting hourly rate of $19.84.

Responsibilities include positioning parts in jigs, tack welding, welding vertical/horizontal/overhead lines, and inspecting bead size. Lifting up to 90 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months+ MIG welding experience preferred.
• Able to MIG weld in a fast-paced environment.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short memos and correspondence.
• Read blueprints and measuring tape; basic math including fractions & decimals.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamp parts together along layout marks.
• Lay out, position, and tack welds on work pieces.
• Weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines.
• Connect regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders; light torch and adjust gas mixture and pressure.
• Inspect weld bead size and other specifications; scarf or groove welds as needed.

The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.**Hourly Rate: $19.84hr****Responsibilities*** Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks* Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces* Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines* Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
