Job summary

Berner International LLC in New Castle, PA, is seeking a Welder for the 2nd shift (2:00pm – 10:00pm). This full-time, non-exempt role requires welding and fabrication expertise to meet ship dates, with occasional press brake operation. 2:00pm–10:00pm shift; $1 shift differential.

You will read blueprints, set up equipment, and coordinate with fabrication and welding teams to produce high-quality air curtains and metal assemblies. Benefits include comprehensive insurance and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Strong CNC laser and punch press experience.
• Ability to read protractor, micrometer and calipers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of production procedures.
• Knowledge of fabricating equipment and measuring tools.
• Knowledge of welding processes.
• MIG welding preferred.
• Must be able to use a tape measure.
• Must be able to read and interpret production procedures.

Responsibilities

• Process parts work orders.
• Complete fabrication and welding operations in a timely fashion so that the final product meets ship date.
• Responsible for bending, punching, milling, rolling and machinery set up.
• Operate CNC laser punch press.
• Perform some machine repair.
• Responsible for welding parts that meet acceptable quality.
• Maintain work area.
• Coordinate jobs between fabrication and welding departments.
• Assist other departments as needed.

What is an air curtain? An air curtain is a machine that blows a controlled stream of air across an opening to create an air seal. This air seal not only saves energy it also provides comfortable environments by keeping out bugs, dust, fumes, and extreme temperatures.

Duties and Responsibilities: Our Welders have welding and fabrication experience, are detail oriented, and have a passion for quality. This position is responsible for welding operations in a timely fashion so that the final product meets ship date. This role may require some fabrication and press brake operation as well. • Must be able to read and interpret visual and written production procedures
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings

Physical Demands

• Ability to shift and push/pull up to 50 pounds and lift to 3-4 feet throughout the day
• Must be able to walk and stand upright in a stationary position for up to 4 hours at a time
• Ability to work in seasonal unconditioned indoor air conditions
