Job summary

Berner International seeks an experienced welder/fabricator to join our on-site manufacturing team in New Castle, PA. You will perform welding operations, fabrication, and machine setup to deliver quality products on schedule.

The role requires strong reading of blueprints and working with CNC laser/punch press equipment; candidates must pass pre-employment screenings and work in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Process parts work orders.
• Complete fabrication and welding operations to meet ship dates.
• Operate bending, punching, milling, rolling equipment and machinery setup.
• Operate CNC laser punch press.
• Perform machine repair as needed.
• Weld parts meeting quality standards.
• Maintain and organize the work area.
• Coordinate jobs between fabrication and welding.

What is an air curtain?

An air curtain is a machine that blows a controlled stream of air across an opening to create an air seal. This air seal not only saves energy it also provides comfortable environments by keeping out bugs, dust, fumes, and extreme temperatures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Our Welders have welding and fabrication experience, are detail oriented, and have a passion for quality. This position is responsible for welding operations in a timely fashion so that the final product meets ship date. This role may require some fabrication and press brake operation as well. • Process parts work orders
• Complete fabrication and welding operations in a timely fashion so that the final product meets ship date
• Responsible for bending, punching, milling, rolling and machinery set up
• Operate CNC laser punch press
• Perform some machine repair
• Responsible for welding parts that meet acceptable quality
• Maintain work area
• Coordinate jobs between fabrication and welding departments
• Assist other departments as needed

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong CNC laser and punch press experience
• Ability to read protractor, micrometer and calipers
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Knowledge of production procedures
• Knowledge of fabricating equipment and measuring tools
• Knowledge of various metal gauges
• Knowledge of welding and welding processes
• MIG welding preferred
• Must be able to use a tape measure
• Must be able to read and interpret visual and written production procedures
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings

Physical Demands

• Ability to shift and push/pull up to 50 pounds and lift to 3-4 feet throughout the day
• Must be able to walk and stand upright in a stationary position for up to 4 hours at a time
• Ability to work in seasonal unconditioned indoor air conditions
