Modern Disposal Services in Lewiston, NY seeks a Mechanic Supervisor (welder/fabricator) for a second shift to perform repairs and maintenance on containers and fleet, welding with MIG/ARC techniques and fabricating steel components. This role supports safety and regulatory standards on the job site.

You will typically work 3:00–11:30 PM, with 3–5 years welding experience and ability to operate a forklift (training provided). Compliance with OSHA safety rules is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintenance on containers and trucks
• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding Equipment.
• Fabricates steel components using a brake and shear.
• Cuts steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricates steel components for hoppers, containers and compactors.
• Installs lids and wheels on containers.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Completes required paperwork.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and preforms all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Salary Range: $22.98 To $28.23 Hourly

Position Summary

The welder/fabricator is responsible for repairs and maintenance to containers and company owned property to meet customer and regulatory specifications. This position is expected to be second shift (3:00 - 11:30 PM).

• Performs repairs and maintenance on containers and trucks

Education/Experience

• Certified welder preferred
