Modern Disposal Services, Inc. seeks a Welder/Fabricator to perform repairs and fabrication on containers and company property. This position primarily operates on the second shift (3:00 - 11:30 PM) in Lewiston, NY, with responsibilities ranging from MIG/ARC welding to cutting and assembly.

The role requires 3–5 years welding experience, and a forklift operating capability with training provided. OSHA safety standards apply, and a full list of duties is provided in the posting.

Qualifications

• Certified welder preferred.
• 3-5 years welding experience.
• Ability to operate a forklift, training can be provided.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintenance on containers and trucks.
• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricates steel components using a brake and shear.
• Cuts steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricates steel components for hoppers, containers and compactors.
• Installs lids and wheels on containers.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Completes required paperwork.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and preforms all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Position Summary

The welder/fabricator is responsible for repairs and maintenance to containers and company owned property to meet customer and regulatory specifications. This position is expected to be second shift (3:00 - 11:30 PM).
