Job summary

MIRATECH in Maryville, TN, seeks an experienced welder to perform MIG and TIG welding of aluminum, steel and stainless parts with emphasis on safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.

The role requires reading blueprints, adhering to product specs, and performing deburring and grinding as needed. Candidate should have 1+ year in metal fabrication and a willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 1+ year experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner.
• Proficient with tape measures, calipers, forklifts and cranes.
• Welding certification a plus.
• Prior work as MIG or TIG welder helpful.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• MIG & TIG welding based on product needs; weld round and rectangular elements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and diagrams to perform tasks.
• Knowledge of QC and product specifications.
• Deburr and grind metal to achieve proper surface texture.
• Conserve resources to maintain budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
• Follow welding safety procedures and use PPE provided.
• Possibly perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Cooperates with: Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping

Primary Responsibility: The welder has primary responsibility of MIG & TIG welding of aluminum and steel (also, stainless steel) parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG & TIG welding based on product needs; welding round and rectangular elements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform necessary task.
• Knowledge of QC and product specifications.
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
• Conserve resources wherever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and willingness to use PPE's provided.
• Ability to perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
