Job summary

MIRATECH in Knoxville, TN is seeking a skilled welder responsible for TIG welding aluminum, steel, and stainless steel parts. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area, with schedule Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

You will MIG weld as needed, read project plans, ensure QC, deburr and finish surfaces, and assist with Substrate Assembly as required. Must have HS diploma and 1+ year metalworking experience; welding certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience with metal fabrication equipment.

• Willing to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG & TIG welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless parts per specifications.
• Read blueprints and diagrams; ensure accuracy, safety, and timeliness.
• Maintain QC and adhere to product specifications.
• Deburr and finish welds; surface texture as required.
• Operate lifts and cranes as needed; follow safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Knoxville Plant Manager

Cooperates with: Welding, Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping

Schedule: M - F 2:00PM - 10:30PM

Primary Responsibility: The welder has primary responsibility of TIG welding of aluminum and steel (also, stainless steel) parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG & TIG welding based on product needs; welding round and rectangular elements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform necessary task.
• Knowledge of QC and product specifications.
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
• Conserve resources wherever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and willingness to use PPE's provided.
• Ability to perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.
• 1 + year(s) experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility.
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner.
• Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes.
• Welding certification a plus.
• Prior work experience as a MIG or TIG welder helpful.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices.
