Job summary

AMETEK, Irvine, CA seeks a Welder with TIG welding and fabrication in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. The role requires the ability to interpret aerospace drawings and certify to AWS D17.1 standards, with the 2nd shift from 2:00pm to 10:30pm.

Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of welding experience, knowledge of workshop tools, and the ability to work with thin material across several weld groups.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings for aerospace specs.
• Familiarity with general workshop tools and welding processes.

Responsibilities

This is our for our 2nd shift which is 2:00pm-10:30pm

How You Will Do It

• Capable of certifying to AWS D17.1
• Groups IIB, IIIB, IV and VI.
• Material thickness from .020” to .200” in all groups.
• Obtain top quality workmanship and efficiency.
• Ensure that products and goods manufactured meet quality standards obtainable in the industry.
• Keep a neat and clean work area.
• Initiate and control paperwork associated with jobs received in weld to provide continuity to the job.
• Carry out direct orders of supervisor to achieve shipment commitments.

What We Look For

• 3-5 years’ experience in a weld role with previous industry-related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Knowledge of general workshop tools, equipment and materials pertaining to welding and the aerospace industries.
• Must be able to understand and interpret technical drawings to military and aerospace specifications.
