Job description

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Masstron Producing Organization (MTMS) designs, develops, and produces products within the METTLER TOLEDO Vehicle and Heavy Capacity product families, supporting the Vehicle Scale Strategic Business Unit. The MTMS Welder works from production orders, routings, blueprints, and process documentation to layout, fit, and weld fabricated materials, creating formed structures. The welder inspects the finished structures for quality and confirms product details in the MRP system before delivering to the next customer. Responsibilities include:

  1. Layout, fit, and weld materials using production orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  2. Maintain accurate records such as production orders, data collection, and TPM sheets.
  3. Maintain all welding equipment used in the department.
  4. Manage stock control, pull items for orders, and support other departments as needed.
  5. Perform activities safely and identify improvement opportunities.
  6. Participate in facility 5S and Lean initiatives.
  7. Operate forklifts and cranes safely.
  8. Ensure quality throughout the welding process.
What You Need to Succeed

Preferred: Current or past AWS certification for D1.1 or D1.5. Must have:

  • Ability to read and interpret AWS symbols.
  • Proficiency with torches, cutters, hand/pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to work with fixtures and operate cranes and welding equipment safely.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections and operate forklifts.
  • Good attendance, punctuality, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Basic computer skills with SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of measurements, fractions, and decimals.
  • Drive to meet quality and delivery standards.
  • Ability to work in teams, inspect work, and follow directions.
  • Strong organizational skills and willingness to work overtime if needed.
