Job summary

Jarp-Industries in Wisconsin is seeking an entry level or experienced Welder/Fabricator for 2nd or 3rd shift. The role involves setting up and tack welding a variety of metals to assemble sub-assemblies for cylinders and swivels, and following Weld Procedure Specifications.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and welding training; certification tests will be required within 2 years. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and shift premiums.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop routings and prints.
• Set-up the job per the appropriate weld procedures and work instruction using fixtures and jigs where applicable.
• Perform and obtain the first part piece inspection.
• Repair of weld flaws/leakers from assembly.
• Tack and weld parts per the appropriate weld procedure.
• General maintenance – changing tips, liners, wire, gas, etc.
• When job is complete, return tools, fixtures, etc. to the proper locations.

Entry Level or Experienced Welder/Fabricator (2nd Shift or 3rd Shift, Full-Time)

$21.00–$31.00/hour + $1.50/hour Shift Premium

Schedule

2nd shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:00pm–12:00am

3rd shift: Monday - Thursday, 8:00pm - 6:00am

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Team Lead or Plant Management Team, the Welder will set up and tack weld a wide range of similar and dissimilar metals to make sub-assemblies for cylinders and swivels and set up sub arc and weld per Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. 1. Repair of weld flaws/leakers from assembly.
2. 2. Tack and weld parts per the appropriate weld procedure.
3. 3. Clean and inspect all finished sub-assemblies as trained.
4. 4. Store finished sub-assemblies and un-used parts per proper procedures.
5. 5. Read and interpret shop routings and prints.
6. 6. Set-up the job per the appropriate weld procedures and work instruction using fixtures and jigs where applicable.
7. 7. Perform and obtain the first part piece inspection.
8. 8. General maintenance – changing tips, liners, wire, gas, etc.
9. 9. When job is complete, return tools, fixtures, etc. to the proper locations.

Candidates may be asked to complete a weld test to verify your skills in welding processes, blueprint reading, material preparation, and quality control.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. 1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 2. (2) Two years associate degree in Welding with one or more years in a variety of welding techniques.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. 1. Must be able to pass the JARP Industries weld certification test.
2. 2. Required to pass all weld certification tests within 2 years of hire. Each weld process is re-certified at 3-year intervals.
3. 3. May be directed to perform other tasks due to a decrease in the workload, machine is down for maintenance or a critical need exists in another area.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

1. 1. Welding experience is a must in flux core, sub-arc and MIG.
2. 2. Must be able to read blueprint.
3. 3. Manufacturing experience.
