Job summary

BlueScope Buildings is seeking skilled welders to fabricate and repair metal components. Interpret blueprints and weld subunits using jigs and hand tools, maintaining strict quality standards.

You will lift and position materials with cranes or forklifts, and contribute to continuous improvement while keeping an organized workstation. We offer training and growth opportunities, a supportive team, and a diverse workplace.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with ability to produce high-quality welds.
• Comfortable working with machinery and performing hands-on welding tasks.
• Able to work in a team-focused environment and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
• Position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits using jigs and hand tools.
• Safely use lifting devices to position materials or parts as needed.
• Perform inspections before, during, and after production to ensure materials meet specifications.
• Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain material inventory and support housekeeping and 5-S practices.

$3000 Sign On Bonus!

$3000 Sign On Bonus! $1500 at 90 days and $1500 at the 1-year mark

Pay for this position

Pay for this position is $30.01/hour and will include a $2/hour shift differential.

Hours

Hours are Sunday PM-Friday AM 10:00pm-6:00am with some OT Required.

What You’ll Do

• Join and Fabricate: Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
• Prepare and Set Up: Position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.
