Description

A Welder at D&H Industries performs a variety of welding utilizing MIG/Robotic Welders and Spot/Resistance Welders to ensure components are being welded to engineered specifications.

SCHEDULE: This is a 1st Shift position, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., 9-hour shifts. Subject to change based on business need. Any Saturday work is based on business need and is voluntary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Read blueprints/drawings and job routing and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Weld components/parts by operating MIG/Robotic Welders and Spot/Resistance Welders to setup sheets specifications.
• Produce complex welded assemblies to close tolerances to achieve quality results.
• Inspect weldments for obvious and non-obvious defects such as, but not limited to: weld spatter, rough welds, missing welds, sharp corners/edges, correct weld lengths, and size.
• Perform metal finishing such as grinding to remove defects and/or fix surfaces to meet the required quality level.
• Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on welding equipment to ensure proper working order.
• May be assigned to work in other areas of the production floor as needed to meet production deadlines.
• Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Education: HS Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience and/or Training: At least 1 year of relevant manufacturing/welding experience preferred.
• Skills: Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Working knowledge of blueprint reading preferred. Ability to read measurements in metric and traditional scale.
