Job summary

Crenlo Engineered Cabs is seeking a Welder 2 to join our manufacturing team in Engineered Cabs. The role entails planning, positioning and welding fabricated and cast parts to protect structures, primarily on sheet metal using pulse or short circuit welding.

You will produce components to meet customer quality standards in a safe, efficient manner. Responsibilities include reviewing instructions, setting up equipment, inspecting finished work, and adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Crenlo Engineered Cabs welding training program completed.
• Prior weld experience is a plus.
• Must obtain AWS/ANSI welding certification.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review job instructions, prints and work orders.
• Lay out, position, clamp, tack-weld parts in fixture for welding.
• Set up and adjust equipment per blueprints.
• Perform welding per blueprints and guidelines.
• Grind excess welds and sharp edges for quality.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on finished products.

SUMMARY

Plans, positions, and welds fabricated and cast components to roll over/fall over protective structures. Performs work primarily on sheet metal utilizing pulse and/or short circuit welding. Produces a product to customer quality standards in a safe and efficient manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives and reviews instructions, prints, and work order for the job.
• Lays out, positions, bolts, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure into position within fixture for welding.
• Sets up and makes adjustments to equipment and parts per blueprints.
• Performs welding responsibilities on product outlined in Blueprints; OPI's, Quality Manual, or any additional performance guidelines.
• Grinds excess weld, sharp corners, or sharp protrusions using a portable pneumatic grinder.
• Makes periodic quality checks as required and inspects finished product for completeness.
• Other duties as assigned

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Required to obtain weld certification to AWS/ANSI standards.
• Basic knowledge of welding procedures,
• Capability to read and interpret blueprints, work order instructions; weld symbols, and operate required tools involved in position.
• Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
• Ability to convert standard units of measure to metric and metric to standard in addition to basic math skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of Crenlo Engineered Cabs weld training program requirements
• Crenlo basic safety training
• Prior weld experience a plus
