Job summary

CNH Industrial in Grand Island, Nebraska, is seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will weld metal components from layouts and route sheets using electric wire feed equipment, ensuring strong, leak-proof seams. You will operate welding equipment safely, inspect finished welds, and maintain clean work areas.

You will also handle quality checks and adhere to safety protocols. This role requires about 1 year of manufacturing experience or a welding certificate.

Qualifications

• 1 year of manufacturing experience or a welding certificate/degree.
• Familiarity with wire-feed welding and safety rules.
• Ability to read layouts and route sheets.

Responsibilities

• Welds metal components per layout and procedure.
• Select and position parts, operate welding equipment, and ensure leak-proof seams.
• Inspect welds and maintain clean work area.
• Overtime and weekend shifts may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Work from orders, blueprints, route and method sheets, and direction from supervisor.
• Welds together metal components as specified by layout, diagram, work order, welding procedures, and oral instructions, using electric wire feed welding equipment.
• Obtain welding, fixtures and positioners from storage, identify by part or tool number, as indicated on route sheet.
• Weld beads of prescribed length, radius, and size to fasten elements securely together to meet specifications and leak proof seams when required.
• Weld elements to make regular and irregular, eccentric, and symmetrical weldments of simple, or design.
• Vary amperage and voltage to obtain quality weld at maximum linear speed consistent with good.
• Obtain accurate angular, dimensional and spatial relationships, within specified limits, by careful a fixture, proper positioning, clamping, and checking of parts in fixture.
• Strikes arc, which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.
• Manually guides gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.
• Welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
• Cleans or degreases weld joint or work piece using wire brush, portable grinder or chemical bath.
• May cut metal plate or structural shapes using oxy/acetylene torch.
• Overtime may be required in addition to occasional Saturday operations.

Experience Required

1 year of manufacturing experience and/or a certificate/degree in welding

Pay Transparency

The hourly pay for this role is USD $27.24 - plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
