United Steel is seeking Welders with 2-3 years of welding experience. This position involves safely welding metal components such as miscellaneous metals, stairs, and rails using electric arc-welding equipment. Responsibilities include performing welding operations, inspecting welds, preparing materials, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform welding operations supporting production needs.
  • Detect and report issues to supervisors.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment according to specifications.
  • Execute welding in various positions, ensuring quality and safety.
  • Inspect welds for quality standards.
  • Prepare and finish welds, including cleaning and repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Vocational School.
  • 2-3 years of welding experience or technical schooling.
  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding preferred.
  • Basic math, mechanical skills, and ability to interpret work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and good communication skills.
Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to fumes, mechanical parts, noise, and vibration in a manufacturing environment. Safety equipment and training are provided.
