Job summary

MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) is seeking a Welding Operator for 1st shift in Michigan. You will read blueprints, prepare materials, set up welding equipment, and perform welds on fabricated components.

You will visually inspect welds, troubleshoot issues, maintain tools, and follow PPE rules. The role may involve operating welding robots, saws, and grinders. Candidates should be physically able to perform required lifts and stand for long periods.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Some physical demand; often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
• May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
