Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a MIG Weld Operator in Atwater, CA to perform welding on structural steel components including frames, rafters, and beams. You will read blueprints, set weld parameters, and ensure bead quality in a fast-paced production environment.

The role requires accurate measurement, adherence to safety rules, and the ability to train others in welding procedures. Weekend overtime and a strong teamwork ethic are common in this production setting.

Formación

• 1 year of welding experience in a production environment or valid welding certification is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Obtain and maintain CWB/AWS welding certification per Cornerstone Building Brands procedures.
• Forklift/overhead crane operation experience is a plus.
• Comfort with power hand tools and basic measuring instruments.
• Willingness to train and operate forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well in a team.
• Good mathematical skills for measuring and tolerances.

Responsabilidades

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Shift: Monday - Friday - 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, hours may vary depending on operations

Duties and Responsibilities

This position engages in the full scope of MIG weld processes on a variety of structural steel including (but not limited to) rigid frame columns, rafters, pipe, beam canopy rafters, small parts, clips, and special assemblies. Welded parts may include thin gauge, painted, or galvanized material. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of welding techniques and have a high attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment.

• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
• Responsible for coordination of welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow with observed condition of bead
• Ability to read a tape measure and blue prints to shop standard
• Ability to decide when adjustment or gun manipulation needs to be altered
• Ability to decide how much and what repairs to make for pin holes and burn through caused by auto welder
• Ability to train and teach proper welding procedures in accordance with manufacturing job procedures
• Ability to operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment
• Responsible for holding bead to specified shape, size and penetrations while maintain the quality of the product
• Responsible for keeping numerical and alphabetical sequences correct
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear

Qualifications

• A minimum of one (1) year experience welding in a production environment or valid welding certification
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings
• Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands welding procedures
• Experience with forklift and/or overhead craneoperation a plus
• Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools
• Willingness to train, certify, and operate forklift and overhead crane
• Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments
