Job summary

Hubbell Power Systems (Connectors Location) in Leeds, AL is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate and assemble steel and aluminum structures. You will read blueprints, lay out parts, and weld with close tolerances while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has MIG and aluminum welding experience, the ability to read a tape measure, and a strong mechanical aptitude. High school diploma or GED is required, with technical training preferred.

A Day In The Life

• Responsible for welding steel and aluminum components to assemble structural forms
• Layout, align, fit and weld fabricated steel and aluminum components
• Read and understand blueprints
• Strong attention to detail regarding alignment, dimensions, and general inspection
• Perform work involving close tolerances that require constant attention while making adjustments to perform properly

• Knowledge and technique of MIG welding
• Aluminum welding experience
• Must have the ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to regularly move, twist, bend, and crouch while working
• Dependable with a good attendance record
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blue prints and weld assemblies to comply with the engineering standards
• Experience with a handheld plasma cutter a plus
• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required with Vocational Training and/or Technical Education preferred
