Job summary

MacLean Power Systems seeks a weld-focused technician to join our production team in Trenton, Tennessee. You will weld metal components using gas welders and hand tools, interpret blueprints, and verify weld quality against specifications.

Successful candidates will have 0–2 years of experience, strong attention to detail, and solid communication skills, with a commitment to safety and quality. This role requires on-site work at our facility and adherence to 5S standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Weld metal components and parts using gas welders, gas torches and hand tools.
  • Use electrical current to heat and bond metals.
  • Interpret blueprints, procedures, and templates.
  • Observe welded surfaces to ensure quality and conformance to specs.
  • Move fixtures and equipment as needed to complete tasks.
  • Complete all documents fully and accurately.

Job Duties

  • Weld metal components and parts using specialized equipment such as gas welders, gas torches and hand tools
  • Use electrical currents to create heat and bond metals
  • Plan work by interpreting blueprints, technical procedures and templates
  • Observe tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications
  • Move fixtures and equipment as required to accomplish various jobs
  • Complete all documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

  • Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
  • 0 to 2 years of experience
  • Ability to interpret work instructions
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions
