Job summary

MacLean Power Systems is seeking a manufacturing engineer to develop and improve industrial manufacturing methods, applying knowledge of product design, materials, tooling and equipment capabilities to raise capability and quality.

You will communicate capabilities to support production, coordinate with vendors on specifications, and contribute to safety and 5S standards. Bachelor’s degree and 0–3 years’ experience preferred; Python and CAD skills optional.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 0–3 years experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions and work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn CAD tools.
  • Comfortable with PLC concepts and factory floor troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates and improves industrial manufacturing methods.
  • Communicates capabilities to facilitate production processes.
  • Confer with vendors to determine process specifications and purchase decisions.
  • Specify peripheral equipment specs and write capital expense requests.
  • Develop statements of work for equipment upgrades.
  • Assist Maintenance to return equipment to operation.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Keyence).
  • Understand load cells, analog inputs, hydraulics; panel troubleshooting.
  • Adhere to 5S, safety, environmental and quality policies.

Job Summary

Develops, evaluates and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.

Job Duties
  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities, or other information to facilitate production processes
  • Confer with vendors to determine specifications of processes and arrange equipment, material purchase and equipment.
  • Specify peripheral equipment specifications and write capital expense requests as needed.
  • Develop statements of work for equipment upgrades (Controls Upgrade)
  • Assist the Maintenance Dept when needed to return the equipment to operational standard.
  • PLC Programming with Allen Braley, Keyence and/or Siemens
  • Understanding and troubleshooting of load cells, Analog inputs (0-10Vdc or 4-20Ma)
  • Understanding of basic Hydraulics and troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable working in 480VAC Panels, for troubleshooting
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
Experience and Education
  • Perform work under supervision
  • Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to more experienced staff
  • Willingness to learn and grow with Maclean Power
  • Bachelor's degree 0 to 3 years of experience preferred, or equivalent industrial experience will be considered for the right skill set.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Problem-solving skills and Analytical thinking skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Optional, Knowledge to program in Python
  • Optional, Equip Mechanical, Welding, Mig/Tig/Gas
  • Optional, Experience with AUTOCAD, Solid Works Software Packages
  • Optional, Some Machining, Small Machining Center and Small Lathe, Basic Operation.
  • Work with Key Vendors to resolve problems with equipment.
  • Work with Vendors on equipment quotes and capital projects
  • General understanding of PLC’s; Allen Bradley, Siemens, Keyence
