Job summary

MacLean Power Systems (Elliott Industries Inc) is seeking a hands-on Welder/Fabricator for its operation in Bossier City, LA. The role involves MIG welding of steel enclosures and components per engineering drawings, ensuring structural integrity and cosmetic quality.

You will read blueprints, assemble parts using fixtures, and maintain safety while meeting production schedules. Requires 2+ years MIG welding experience and ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years MIG welding in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings.
• Experience welding sheet metal and 11-gauge steel enclosures.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication techniques.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on steel and stainless-steel enclosures and components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings.
• Assemble enclosure parts using fixtures, clamps, and measuring tools.
• Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
• Grind, clean, and finish welded surfaces as required.
• Operate welding equipment, hand tools, grinders, and fabrication machinery safely.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety procedures.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing schedules.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and report any issues.

Experienced MIG Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal enclosures according to engineering drawings and quality standards. Ensure all welds meet structural and cosmetic requirements while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
