Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a skilled welder focused on MIG welding to assemble components per prints, layouts and jigs. The role emphasizes precise bead formation, fixture setup, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will interpret simple instructions, read tape measures, and complete tasks on schedule while maintaining a safe work area. Pay rate is $22.82 per hour.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience required.
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Knowledge of basic math and tape measure reading preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred.
• Ability to pass all EHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures and tack welds.
• MIG welds along vertical, horizontal and overhead lines.
• Inspect weld bead size and quality.
• Prepare parts by grinding, deburring, and cleaning as needed.
• Adhere to production schedules and safety/quality standards.

Job Summary:

The welder position will have expertise in MIG Welding techniques, by focusing on the assembly of components, parts, and structures as specified by prints, layouts and/or jigs and fixtures.

Pay rate: $22.82

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.
• Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces.
• MIG Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.
• Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame. Holds & guides torch at proper angle to cut metal.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Scarfs or grooves welds and parts.
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
• Completes tasks while adhering to production schedules
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• MIG Welding experience is required
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading preferred
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred
• Ability to pass all EHS requirements

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

• Position has frequent exposure to heat, noise, vibration, smoke, dust, fumes, dirt, grease and oil.
• Employees may be occasionally in a cramped or confined space depending on the welding line.
