Job Responsibilities

1. Repair and replace damaged or worn parts on machinery.
2. Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with specifications.
3. Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
4. Read and interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
5. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
6. Overhaul and test machines to ensure efficiency.
7. Adjust, maintain, and repair subassemblies such as transmissions and crawler heads.
8. Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
9. Diagnose faults using engine diagnostic equipment.
10. Inspect parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges.
11. Perform welding or soldering on broken parts and structural members.
12. Maintain parts inventory for repairs and services.
13. Fit bearings and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
14. Schedule maintenance and keep service records.
15. Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating equipment.
16. Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears.
17. Clean parts using solvents.
18. Adjust and maintain industrial machinery using control devices.
19. Fabricate parts from sheet metal as needed.
20. Supervise workers assembling or disassembling equipment.
