Job summary

Metalcraft in Mayville, WI is hiring welders. The role involves operating manual welders and robotic welding systems to assemble metal parts, following WPS standards. You will read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and test parts for quality, while maintaining safety and productivity.

What You'll Do:

• Operate manual weld machines and automated/motion-control robots to fabricate metal parts and frames.
• Lift workpieces manually or using hoists to secure them into fixtures, or load automatic feeding devices.
• Perform basic MIG and TIG welding techniques as needed, welding components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions according to WPS weld standards.
• Inspect and measure machined workpieces using instruments like gauges to verify conformance with specifications, inspection sheets, and customer notes.
• Maintain company quality, efficiency, and productivity standards.
• Ensure strict compliance with all corporate, plant, and prescribed safety regulations.

What You'll Bring

• At least one year of welding experience or equivalent education (welding certificate/degree preferred); must pass a practical welding test and know basic MIG and tack-welding techniques
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to operate machinery and motion-control robots; familiarity with machine adjustments and automated welding (FANUC certification is a plus)
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, manuals, welding symbols, and use basic math
• Strict adherence to plant safety regulations and corporate standards
• Must be dependable, a good communicator (with team and supervisors), and adaptable to changing daily duties
