Standard Iron in Hartford, WI is seeking a skilled MIG Welder to safely deliver defect-free, on-time products while reducing waste. You will weld on mild steel from thin 20-gauge to 1-inch plate, fabricate hydraulic tanks, fuel tanks, fenders, platforms, and sheet metal parts.

Read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, perform machine setups, and finish with grinders. Weekly pay and on-site culture with training to achieve AWS qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass welding assessment 75%+ and shop assessment 100% within first week.
• Willingness to obtain D1.1 and D1.3 GMAW qualifications during training.
• Experience with welding in multiple positions is preferred.

MIG Welder – Standard Iron (Hartford, WI)

Reporting To: Operations Manager

• Location: Hartford, WI (1055 W Sumner St or 1720 Innovation Way)
• Pay Range: $21.00 - $30.00+/ hr (Based on experience) + Shift Premiums up to $5

What You’ll Do

• MIG Weld: Work on mild steel ranging from thin 20-gauge up to heavy 1-inch plate.
• Fabricate: Build hydraulic tanks, fuel tanks, fenders, platforms, and custom sheet metal designs.
• Setup & Finish: Read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, perform machine setups, and use grinders/abrasives for clean finishes.
• Handle Materials: Safely operate cranes, positioners, magnets, hooks, and fixtures.

What You Need

• Experience: Previous welding experience is preferred, with a strong command of all welding positions.
• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• First-Week Milestones: You must pass our welding assessment (75%+) and general shop assessment (100%) within your first week of placement. Dont worry too much, We have great Trainers to assist.
• Certifications: Willingness to achieve D1.1 GMAW and D1.3 GMAW qualifications during your training period.
