PMI Inc. seeks an experienced welder to join our shop in Bloomer, WI. The role emphasizes aluminum welding with MIG and TIG methods, reading blueprints, and ensuring high-quality, precise welds. You will work on fabrication assemblies, prepare surfaces, and maintain strict safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include selecting settings, interpreting weld symbols, and collaborating with teams while occasionally supporting robotic welding and related fabrication tasks.

Description

Bring your aluminum welding expertise to PMI! We're looking for a skilled welder with extensive hands-on aluminum welding experience who takes pride in producing clean, consistent, high-quality welds.

Schedule: 1st Shift - Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM. Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week! Some overtime opportunities available.

What You'll Do:

• Perform precision MIG and TIG welding on aluminum parts and assemblies per specifications
• Select and adjust welding settings, filler materials, and techniques for aluminum thicknesses and joint configurations
• Properly clean and prepare aluminum surfaces to ensure strong, high-quality welds
• Accurately read and interpret fabrication blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications
• Fit, position, and secure components while maintaining alignment and dimensional accuracy
• Control heat input to minimize distortion and maintain weld quality
• Inspect welds and finished assemblies for defects, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards
• Perform mild steel and robotic welding as production needs require
• Safely operate welding equipment and maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Identify and promptly report material or equipment issues
• Work independently and with teammates to meet production goals
• Assist other departments, including Fabrication and Press Brake, as needed

What We're Looking For:

• Extensive aluminum welding experience, with strong MIG and TIG skills
• Ability to troubleshoot aluminum welding issues and consistently produce quality welds
• Strong blueprint-reading, fit-up, and measuring skills
• Attention to detail, dependability, and a commitment to safety
• Robotic welding experience is a plus

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling.
