Paycom - ATS in Superior, WI seeks a Welder responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing heavy-duty hydraulic components such as buckets, breakers, and other attachments. You will weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions and read blueprints and welding symbols to ensure structural integrity.

The role requires proficiency with GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW, strict safety adherence, and meticulous inspection of pieces for defects.

Formación

• Minimum of 1 year tech school or equivalent training.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
• Willingness to pursue robotic welding education.

Responsabilidades

• Operate safety equipment and follow safe work habits.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain configurations for welding.
• Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using GMAW, SMAW, FCAW.
• Monitor fitting, burning, and welding to avoid overheating, warping, or distortion.
• Examine pieces for defects and measure with straightedges or templates to ensure specifications.
• Set up and operate tools common to welding such as SMAW and GMAW equipment.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly.

Job DescriptionThe Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing heavy-duty hydraulic components such as buckets, breakers, shears, and other attachments used in construction and industrial machinery. This role requires proficiency in welding techniques, along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. You will work closely with engineers and fabricators to ensure all welds meet structural integrity and safety standards. Attention to detail, a strong understanding of metallurgy, and a commitment to workplace safety are essential for success in this position.Job DutiesOperate safety equipment and use safe work habits.Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as GMAW, SMAW, FCAW.Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.Education RequirementsMinimum of 1 year Tech school or equivalent training and experienceWillingness to pursue additional education or training in robotic welding operationsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to read and interpret prints and follow safety rules and procedures.
