Essential Duties
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
- Ensure welds meet standards and specifications.
- Supervise machines or robots that perform automated welding tasks.
Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Welders certification may be required depending on job specifications
Skills & Competencies
- Minimum 1 year of experience or schooling, preferred
- Proficiency in:
- MIG (GMAW)
- TIG (GTAW)
- Stick (SMAW)
- Working knowledge of:
- Welding
- Structural brake forming
- Fabrication processes
- Automated welding techniques
