Job summary

PPS is hiring a welder for the Solon, Ohio facility on the 1st shift. The role involves welding and fabrication using MIG, TIG, flux core, stick, and spot welding, following print specifications. You will inspect parts with gauges, document procedures, and keep work areas clean.

Requirements include at least 3 years in a welding environment, ability to read blueprints, a high school diploma, and passing a metalworking skills assessment. 50 lb lifting may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld components and assemblies using MIG, TIG, Flux Core, Stick, and spot welding per print specs.
• Use heat straightening to ensure weldments meet print specs.
• Inspect components with standard gauges to confirm part-to-print accuracy.
• Document procedures and setup steps, and follow routing and tooling procedures.
• Maintain clean work areas and ensure housekeeping in all plant spaces.
• Keep equipment in good condition and follow maintenance schedules; use PPE.

PPS is searching for a first shift welder for our partner facility in Solon, Ohio! This is a first-shift opportunity, full-time and permanent. If you can Weld and Fab you will get more money!

Job Description

• The position available is on our 1st shift.


• Fit and Weld components and assemblies, utilizing MIG, TIG, Flux Core, Stick Welding, and spot welding applications, as defined by Print Specifications.


• Use Heat Straightening techniques to ensure weldment conforms to print specifications.


• Inspection of components, utilizing standard gages (as required), to ensure \"part-to-print\" specifications are maintained. (Standard Gaging includes but is not limited to Scales (includes tapes), Squares, Levels, Calipers, Indicators, and Height Gages.)


• Ensure proper documentation is followed, and maintained if required, for all jobs run. This includes router procedures, setup procedures, tooling ordering procedures, etc.


• Practice good housekeeping for all areas of responsibility and keep all other areas of the plant clean.


• Maintain equipment according to all applicable maintenance schedules, including Personal Protective Gear.


• Order supplies and tools as required; utilizing Kanban Cards, Tooling Tags, or Purchase Order Requisition Procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years prior experience in related Welding Environment (Includes Setup, Fitting, and Straightening).


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.


• Minimum High School Education. Abilities must include reading, writing, and performing basic math computations.


• Pass the Basic Metalworking Skills Assessment test.


• Physically capable of working on feet for 8 hours minimum duration with minimal break periods.


• Physically capable of lifting 50lbs without the support of a Crane or Hoist.
