Job summary

Position Summary

This position is responsible for welding specific hollow metal frame material with MIG welders, ensuring accuracy and fabrication quality. The work involves modifications such as preparing for locksets, hinges, glass kits, access control devices, and other products.

Essential Functions
  • MIG welding of hollow metal frame material and commercial hardware.
  • Assembly of hollow metal frame material and commercial hardware.
  • Frequent work: saw cutting, grinding, and sanding of materials.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience using welding equipment (MIG preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of welding principles.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment background check and drug test.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of woodworking tools for use on wood doors (desired).
  • Basic construction knowledge with experience in hollow metal and commercial hardware applications (strongly preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and meet deadlines.
Physical Demands

Spends more than two‑thirds of the time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Approximately one‑third of the time spent walking, talking, and hearing. Frequent lifting of 25–50 pounds required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Conditions include proximity to forklifts or heavy machinery, use of hand tools and hardware, and frequent heavy lifting. The role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to varied environmental conditions.
